A VIBRANT and exciting dining experience has arrived in Helensburgh.

From the colourful, Mediterranean inspired decor to the charming Spanish waiters, stepping into La Barca is like discovering your favourite holiday restaurant.
o La Barca, which means "the boat" in Spanish, features a handcrafted boat-shaped bar, beautiful harbour scene mural and a generously stocked, feature wine cellar.
l Choose from over 40 tapas and paellas freshly prepared by passionate Spanish chefs, using ingredients sourced both locally and regionally from Spain.
[ Owner Milan Nikolic used to manage several Spanish tapas restaurants across Scotland before opening La Barca with wife Cara in December 2012.
La Barca is in the running for a prestigious accolade. The tapas bar has been shortlisted for 'Restaurant of the Year' in the Scottish Licensed Trade News Awards 2013.
Owners Cara and Milan Nikolic are delighted to be down to the last seven in the under £35 a head category in Scotland. The SLTN awards have been running for 20 years and reward high qualities of food and service. Three judges visited the Tapas Bar in Helensburgh in August and commented on how busy the restaurant was for a Tuesday lumchtime! They were also looking for a commitment to preparation of high quality food, consistent high standards, a comprehensive drinks range, flair, character and atmosphere.
The excited team at La Barca are delighted to have made it to the shortlist less than a year after opening. They find out later this month if they have made it to the glitzy awards ceremony at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow in November.
Owner Milan Nikolic explained: "Eating tapas with friends is a great, sociable experience. It's lovely to share a few dishes over a nice bottle of wine and tapas appeals to everyone, from couples to families and parties of friends. It's also nice to just sit at the bar, have a beer and a couple of tapas to nibble."
Cara added: "We're also really proud of our wine list and have some beautiful Spanish brandies, liqueurs, sherries and, of course, Sangria!"
The couple's attention to detail is evident from the presentation of tapas in beautiful olive wood dishes to the striking Spanish chandeliers and nautical paintings by a local artist which adorn the walls.
Not just a place to eat, La Barca is also the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine, an expertly mixed cocktail, a variety of Spanish beers or a premium roast coffee.
La Barca is the sister establishment to the town's highly reputable Riverbank Bar and Restaurant and was born out of the success of Riverbank's successful Tapas Tuesday nights.
Milan added: "It is a dream come true to open a tapas restaurant and the response has been fantastic.
It is traditional to launch a new boat with a bottle of bubbly. And that's exactly how a new Helensburgh restaurant was launched from the bow of its boat shaped bar.
"We love what we do and invite everyone to come along and discover our taste of Spain."
